Trouble in the daffodils
Share
April has treated us to some truly beautiful weather this year—days so warm and golden you’d think we’d fast-forwarded to June. The fields are buzzing, the lambs are bouncing, and perhaps most notably… the dogs have found their new favourite pastime: flowerbed napping.
Yes, you read that right. Our cheeky farm dogs have fully embraced the spirit of spring, tucking themselves into cosy spots among the daffodils for their daily doze. It started with a single sunny afternoon—one sleepy spaniel curled up in a golden patch of flowers—and now it’s a full-blown trend. They're like little hidden treasures, barely visible until a tail flicks or a nose pokes up from the petals.
It’s become a bit of a game to see who can spot them first. One minute you’re admiring the blooms, the next you’re eye-to-eye with a dozy pup pretending to be invisible. Of course, they know they’re not supposed to squash the flowers… but somehow the rules seem to disappear when the sun’s out and the ground’s warm.
Between the soft hum of bees, the rustle of the breeze through fresh green leaves, and the occasional snore from the flowerbeds, the whole farm feels like it’s exhaling after a long winter.
And honestly? We’re all feeling a bit like the dogs right now—soaking up the sunshine, moving a little slower, and fully leaning into the joy of spring.
