Surprise! We’ve Got Chicks… Lots of Them!
Share
Just when we thought things couldn’t get any fluffier around here—surprise!—we’ve suddenly got a whole new brood of chicks. Eighteen, to be exact. Plus two more for good measure!
A lovely friend of the farm was testing out their incubator and, well… let’s just say it worked really well. They ended up hatching a full clutch of 18 Pekin bantams in every colour you can imagine—lavender, buff, black, mottled, white, and everything in between. It’s like someone spilled a bag of Easter eggs into the brooder box.
And if that wasn’t enough to melt our hearts, they also hatched two black Brahma chicks—tiny now, but destined to grow into gentle, feather-footed giants. They're already showing off those trademark fluffy legs and calm personalities.
The whole lot arrived like a chirping, cheeping wave of fluff and attitude. We had to scramble (pun very much intended) to make space for this new gang, but watching them settle in has been pure joy. The bantams, in particular, are tiny drama queens—waddling around with their tiny feathered feet like they own the place.
It’s been an unexpected addition, but an utterly delightful one. So for now, our barn is filled with even more peeps, fluffs, and chick chaos than usual—and we’re not complaining one bit.
Stay tuned to meet some of these colourful characters as they grow—we have a feeling a few of them might stick around permanently!
