Here comes Soot

Here comes Soot

The wait is over—our bantam and Brahma chicks have officially hatched here at Cromer Farm, and they are beyond adorable! Fluffy, sleepy, and full of peeps, these little ones have already stolen our hearts.

The bantams, true to their reputation, are absolutely tiny and dainty—like little feathered marshmallows. And the Brahmas? Well, even as newborns, they’ve got those iconic feathered feet and a calm, gentle vibe. They’re already looking like they’ll grow into some seriously majestic birds.

One of the most magical moments was watching the first tiny crack in an egg become a determined beak… and eventually a full-on chick tumble into the world. It never gets old, no matter how many times we hatch!

I wanted to showcase Soot, the sweetest little bantam with a checkered face. She hatched nearly a full 3 days after our other 3 bantams and 1 brahma. She is definitely my favourite for now and enjoys nightly cuddles on the sofa.
